Do you remember when Kamala Harris got a boost in the polls in 2019 after she accused Joe Biden of palling around with segregationists and opposing busing?
Sure you do!
It was Kamala’s staged moment in the first Democrat primary debate that her campaign rehearsed so much that it already had T-shirts ready to go that featured a picture of Kamala as a child accompanied by the quote, “That little girl was me.”
Team Kamala was convinced that the way to goose her polling was to accuse Joe of being a closet segregationist because segregation was bad.
That, however, has changed.
Like most of her positions, Kamala has done an about-face and is now embracing segregation like it’s going out of style.
Then again, segregation would go out of style if the damned Democrats didn’t keep breathing new life into it.
That’s the funny thing about “progressivism.” There is nothing “progressive” about it.
This past week, Team Kamala began a series of campaign Zoom calls for her supporters that segregate whites from blacks and women from men.
Last night, it was White Dudes for Kamala, a cringy, embarrassing affair in which white male celebrities and politicians engaged in self-flagellating group therapy while simpering about privilege, toxic masculinity, and the need for men to express their feelings.
What that has to do with the presidential race is anybody’s guess. But that’s the modern Democrat Party for you. They capitalize on guilt so much that even the Catholic Church is like, “Whoa, guys! Tone it down!”
The White Women for Kamala Zoom meeting was so cringy that I couldn’t make it through any of the video clips featured on Twitter. I did watch the parody video by the brilliant Mary Katharine Ham.
Only liberal white women and their beta male counterparts could turn a presidential campaign event into a lecture on white privilege and the perils of treating people as individuals rather than identity groups.
“How dare you call Kamala a DEI hire?! Now, watch our DEI-inspired campaign event for Kamala.”
Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign was also filled with cringy content, except it was spread out over 18 months.
Team Kamala is cramming 18 months of identity politics into 100 days. That would be like pouring the sugar from a year’s supply of coffee into 100 cups.
Can you believe the campaign holding racially segregated events is calling Trump and Vance “weird?”
Meanwhile, Kamala’s campaign is disavowing every policy position Kamala has held since 2019.
From mandatory gun buyback programs to banning fracking to enacting Medicare for All — Kamala now opposes everything she supported just nine days ago when Joe Biden dropped out of the race.
Then again, Kamala also came out against busing just days after attacking Joe Biden for opposing busing, so this woman has a history of back peddling.
Anyroad.
I don’t understand what the Kamala campaign hopes to accomplish with its racially segregated Zoom meetings.
Normal voters will find them off-putting and strange. They appeal only to people who already plan to vote for whatever Democrat faces off against Donald Trump in November.
So again, what is the point?
Is segregation so ingrained in the Democrat Party that none of them stopped to consider the pitfalls of holding these “White Women” and “White Dudes” events for Kamala Harris?
Who knows?
Identity politics is by definition divisive. If the only way voters can “unite” behind Kamala is for whites to confess their sins and vow to support minorities and never question or silence them, that isn’t “unity.”
But when you select a candidate who’s too busy running from her record to run on it, this is what you get.
It’s the same racist ugliness the Democrats have always embraced only this time, they disguise it with feel-good drivel.
I have to say - your last comments hit the nail on the head and wrapped it all up in a nice bow!
I have renamed her Kamilian...
"But when you select a candidate who’s too busy running from her record to run on it, this is what you get.
