Every time I think Kari Lake can’t get any slimier, the wretched fishwife proves me wrong.
Seriously, don’t enter a limbo contest with Kari Lake. You’ll lose every time since there is no limit to how low she can go.
This week, Kari released audio from a secretly recorded conversation she’d been sitting on for 10 months until she could use it to her advantage — because that’s the kind of nasty, vindictive bitch this woman is.
From what I can glean, Kari was engaged in a friendly chat with Jeff DeWit, the chairman of the Arizona Republican Party, in March 2023.
During their conversation, DeWit said he spoke to someone who wondered if Lake would accept a job offer or position in exchange for staying out of the Arizona Senate race.
At one point, DeWit begins to ask, “Is there a number at which,” but gets cut off by Kari, who completes the question for him, saying, “I can be bought?” Gosh. It’s almost as if she knew the conversation was being recorded.
DeWit also suggested to Kari that she take two years off and return in 2026 to run for office, presumably the governorship. He explained that there was concern in the party that she wouldn’t be able to raise enough money to run for the Senate in 2024.
Kari’s responses are so canned they’d rust if you left them in the rain. I mean, who, in casual conversation, says things like, “This is not about money. It’s about our country.”
Only a turnip would think that was a spontaneous, unrehearsed remark. That’s what you say when you want to sound good on the recording you’re secretly making.
What is it about Donald Trump? The guy is like fly paper, attracting every nasty, disease-carrying insect that whizzes by.
So what was the point of releasing this secretly recorded audio nearly a year later?
From what I can gather, Kari wanted Jeff DeWit out as party chair because, evidently, the Arizona Republican Party wasn’t dysfunctional enough for her taste. And what better way to force someone to resign than to expose him for trying to talk Trump’s biggest superfan out of her plan to lose the Arizona GOP yet another election?
If you’re wondering, the nasty-assed scorpion got what she wanted.
DeWit resigned as Chairman of the Arizona GOP on Wednesday.
In a lengthy statement posted on Twitter, DeWit attempted to put the audio recording into context, which, if you understand the first thing about Trump supporters, is an enormous waste of time and energy because context, much like conservative accomplishments and winning elections, is not America First.
DeWit insisted that he was not Kari Lake’s “enemy,” even noting that at the time she secretly recorded their conversation, he was “employing Lake in my private company.”
According to DeWit, after hearing the audio, he realized that the vicious cow “orchestrated this entire situation to have control over the state party.”
Knowing Kari Lake, that explanation has a ring of truth to me, especially when I read the next part:
This morning, I was determined to fight for my position. However, a few hours ago, I received an ultimatum from Lake’s team: resign today or face the release of a new, more damaging recording. I am truly unsure of its contents, but considering our numerous past open conversations as friends, I have decided not to take the risk. I am resigning as Lake requested, in the hope that she will honor her commitment to cease her attacks, allowing me to return to the business sector — a field I find much more logical and prefer over politics.
I think Jeff might be hoping in vain.
She just blackmailed you, honey. Expecting anything like “honor” from Kari Lake is like expecting the scorpion not to sting you when you carry him across the water.
This woman wants voters to send her to the United States Senate, and she friggin’ blackmailed him!
There is no honor in this nest of vipers called MAGA, which may explain why so many Trump supporters, including pro-Trump lickspittle Steve Bannon, are celebrating Kari Lake for “exposing” this poor bastard.
Here’s the kick in the head. DeWit isn’t some NeverTrumper. He was the Chief Operating Officer for Donald Trump’s 2016 and 2020 presidential campaigns. Trump was so pleased with his 2016 efforts that, as president, he made DeWit the CFO of NASA.
But because a political neophyte, who has never won an election and, up until four years ago, was a staunch Democrat who voted for Obama and Hillary, wanted to wield power over the state party, Jeff DeWit is now the latest Trumpist to end up tossed under the bus.
And the fact that this vicious bitch did it by secretly recording their conversations and using them to blackmail him into resigning is enough to make me want to see her lose the Senate race in a massive, humiliating landslide.
Arizona conservative columnist Jon Gabriel said this about Lake’s blackmail scheme:
Don't expect any Arizona Republicans to win statewide office for a long, long time. The party has a death wish, and they've gotten what they wanted.
As of this year, registration of Independents surpasses registered GOPers. Great job, everyone.
Kari is a Trumpist through and through. She will never be tired of losing, and like Trump, her only enemies are Republicans.
That’s just how it goes in TrumpWorld. Friendly fire is their only rule of engagement.
That’s why Donald Trump expends fruitless energy rage-posting about Republican Governors like Kim Reynolds, Ron DeSantis, Brian Kemp, and Chris Sununu while praising crackpots like California Governor Gavin Newsom and former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Conservative writer AG Hamilton said on Twitter yesterday that it is hard for him to pity Jeff DeWit, despite Lake’s shitty, unscrupulous blackmail scheme.
He explained:
[DeWit] knew exactly the type of person he was dealing with and how his actions would be portrayed. Or he should have. The fact that she’s a snake and con artist is obvious to anyone who has followed her public behavior so he was setting himself up by hiring and associating with her.
He has a point — one that also applies to every gormless sap who gets in bed with Donald Trump.
It’s funny.
Trump often tells rally-goers the story “The Scorpion and the Frog,” but he lacks the self-awareness to realize that in modern American politics, he is the scorpion.
And so too, it seems, is Kari Lake.
I would be more concerned about a senior member of the GOP trying to bribe someone. And , given the shanagins Lake has been subjected to, recording conversations should be the norm for her.
It's a shame one of them wasn't on a telephone in Florida. Recording a phone conversation without first letting the person know that it may be recorded (giving the person the option of either demanding that they not be recorded or hanging up) is a felony.
